Pink Floyd – Echoes (The Crystal Voyager version)

As if Pink Floyd’s “Echoes” isn’t mesmerizing and otherworldly enough on its own, get a load of the production here by Australian surfer and filmmaker George Greenough. The closing sequence of the 1973 film Crystal Voyager pairs Floyd’s epic 23 minute interstellar journey with slow-motion footage captured from within the curling tide.

Pink Floyd agreed to let Greenough use “Echoes” in exchange for the right to display his psychedelic surf footage during live performances of their tune. While I admit that the viewing experience isn’t quite as vivid as Dark Side of the Rainbow, it is every bit as mindbending.
