Throwback Thursday: Jimmy the Cab Driver

hqdefaultToday, Donal Logue is a primetime star as the grizzled and corrupt Detective Harvey Bullock on the Batman-less crime drama, Gotham.  He’s not quite a household name, but you’d know him if you saw him.  You may even remember him as the top bill in Fox sitcom, Grounded for Life (which believe it or not, ran for 91 episodes!)  But to me, he’ll always be Jimmy the Cab Driver, a promo icon from back in the day when MTV used to play videos.

His analysis of the era’s classic videos is sterling.  Check his take on The Breeders’ “Cannonball” and Smashing Pumpkins’ “Today.”  Totally nails it.

This one makes a good point about the Beasties’ “Sabotage.”  I also want to see that TV show.

Isn’t it ironic?  Dontcha think?
